You never know how important a random act of kindness is to someone else.
When others are kind to me, it makes a permanent impression and helps me through tough times that others do not even know about.
I can only hope that I can do the same for others. At the end of the day, we have to take care of each other in order to take care of ourself.

You have not lived a perfect day... unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you
As I was getting ready to do my grocery shopping for Thanksgiving, I had a thought - why not pick up an extra item or two to donate to a food bank? My Karate School "Goshin Karate and Judo Academy" does a collection for St. Mary's Food Bank every year.
I filled up some bags with the canned/ nonperishable food items that I had bought and dropped them off at Goshin today and I wanted to share this idea with all of you... While we are doing all the "have to do" things for ourselves (like grocery shopping, dropping off library books, etc.) why not use that same time to do something for someone else too?" -- Goshin Karate Student - Scottsdale Arizona

I cut some flowers growing in my yard, wrapped them up nicely and left them on the doorstep of some random house in my neighborhood. I rang the door bell and quickly ran off. A while later I walked by and saw the flowers still there. I went and picked them up because I didn't know how long the people who lived there would be away for and by the time they got back, the flowers could be wilting. I went to find another house. I saw an elderly couple leaving from their home on a walk. It was the perfect place! Once they were out of view I dropped the flowers off. I was riding back when I saw them again. They were on their way back home. I can't help but wonder what their expressions would be when they discovered the flowers. It was an awesome thrill and I loved it! I'm excited to do other Acts of Kindness!

"2010 is finally over, so why not make the resolution to pay-it-foward? Some one dear to me is very inspired after watching the movie 'Pay-it-Foward', and we both want to make it a goal to spread the seeds of loving kindness in 2011. We would love for you to join us and help spread the ripples! If you're reading this let this be your new years resolution - to "do one kind act to three people, and have those three people do one kind act to another three people" and have it become a chain reaction. If we can do this in enough sequences we can cover the city! Three sequences reaches 81 people (3x3=9x3=27x3=81) and fourtheen reaches 14,348,907 people - the entire state of Arizona! So it's simple, do one kind thing to three people, and lets make a change! :) Remeber that there are always flowers for those who want to see them, so let us all sow seeds of loving kindness! Happy new year everyone!!

When a student does something to help one of their peers, out of the goodness of their heart, I will acknowledge it and let them go in to my 'Kindness Box' to pull out a little surpise.
The students get excited when someone is recognized for being kind and they congratulate that child for caring enought to help someone else.
It is amazing how the children in my classroom are always well behaved and have a caring nature from just being kind.

Home-cooked Meals - My family has been cutting back on dining out, and we've found that when you cook at home, you have to plan your meals, and that when you plan your meals, they turn out nutritious and fairly well-balanced. There's usually a small portion of meat, some vegetables (my favorite is a salad), and a grain or fruit.

Kai has been taking his responsibilities as a big brother very seriously. When his brother fell asleep on the couch, he covered him with a towel so he wouldn't be cold. He has also been getting snacks and drinks for his two year old sister when she cries. Most of all, he had been helpful to his mom with house chores such as laundry.
